Dr. Kaavya Shanker

Specialist Pediatric Dentist, Interceptive and Myofunctional Therapy Specialist

Dr. Kaavya Shanker is a specialist in child dentistry, known for her precision driven, preventive approach to children’s oral health. She combines expert care with genuine dedication, treating every child with the same attention she would give her own. Her practice is defined by evidence-based decision-making, delivered with a calm, patient, and approachable demeanour.

She completed her Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) at Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences, Maharashtra, graduating in 2018 with distinction in multiple subjects. She earned her Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) in Pediatric Dentistry from the prestigious SDM College of Dental Sciences, Dharwad, Karnataka, graduating with distinction.

Further refining her expertise, Dr. Kaavya completed a Fellowship in Interceptive and Myofunctional Therapy from Manipal University College, Malaysia, equipping her with advanced training in early jaw, muscle, and growth guidance, helping support healthy development in growing children. By noticing airway, breathing and growth concerns early, she gently guides a child’s jaw and teeth as they grow, helping to reduce the risk of bigger dental or sleep problems later on. By this, she believes each child can be nurtured and can develop in the healthiest way possible. Her approach reflects a balance of clinical care, preventive insight, and a warm, cheerful and reassuring presence for both children and parents.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Kaavya is passionate about oration, reading, painting and travelling. She enjoys writing, both prose and poetry. She is also a trained Bharatnatyam dancer.
